At 25 years old, half-Filipino Vanessa might be the youngest member of the Saturdays, but she more than makes up for it with her big voice and her raucous laugh.
Her bandmates call her ‘our little diva with the big voice’ and although she ‘cringes’ (her favourite word) at the compliment, it’s actually pretty spot on. This is a girl who was singing lead in hit West End musical The Lion King when she was barely in her teens — even though now she’s too modest to make a big deal about it — and so into big, dramatic voices she actually convinced her mum to name her baby sister Celine (after Celine Dion).
Originally from Yeovil in the quiet county of Somerset, Vanessa’s parents moved to London so she could train at the esteemed Sylvia Young’s stage school. But despite the fact Vanessa had been on stages as soon as she could walk (she remembers her mum taking her Filipino singing contests when she was five) she was racked with nerves the first time she performed with The Saturdays.
Flash forward a few years, Vanessa has a newfound sense of confidence. And it's no surprise, thanks to 7 years of experience in the music industry with The Saturdays. In that time, she has scored 13 top ten singles, 5 top ten albums and sold 5 million records and concert tickets worldwide. Not to forget 4 nationwide headlining tours and 3 primetime TV series - including Chasing The Saturdays for E! which aired in over 40 countries worldwide.
Vanessa has also recently signed on as the latest face of Select Models and is in the process of developing several projects in the worlds of both fashion and music. A huge music lover, Vanessa has also been flexing her DJ muscles as a recent signing to Insanity Artists.
